As began, Meher Mistry, like most people, too reflected upon the decade gone by. “It struck me that it was only in the last 10 years that I decided I wanted to become a fulltime actor,” says the year-old, who has essayed lead roles in two major homegrown musicals, Belle in Beauty and the Beast and Maria in The Sound of Music.
Mistry was barely five when she first went on stage at her school, JB Vaccha. “I never thought this is where I would eventually belong,” she shares. It was a gig at her uncle’s theatre company in the US, in the summer of , when she finally decided that the stage was her true calling. “I was an assistant stage manager and worked on multiple productions. And this is where the key really turned for me,” she says. “So, I started to watch plenty of theatre after I returned to the city.”
