Early life
Al-Saadi displayed his talents at a young age, learning to sing with the Boys' Choir of Ann Arbor when he was four, and taking up the guitar at age
As a student of Ann Arbor's Community High School, he played in the school's jazz band, and at 15 formed his first blues band, "Blue Vinyl". By the time he was 18 years old they had opened for Blues greats like Buddy Guy, Luther Allison, Son Seals, and Taj Mahal and toured the Netherlands.
